Jon Turner


Jon Turner serves as chairman of the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees and has a total of nine years of cumulative board service. Jon is a partner in the Jackson office of BKD, LLP – CPAs & Advisors, among the nation’s 15 largest CPA firms. With experience spanning multiple industries, including the healthcare, not-for-profits and manufacturing sectors, he serves as Mississippi Industry Leader for the firm’s National Healthcare Group.

He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) and the Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) Foundation Board of Directors, as well as the Executive Committee of the Ole Miss Alumni Association Board of Directors. He has served on the boards of the University of Mississippi Foundation, Christ United Methodist Church and the YMCA of Metropolitan Jackson. Additionally, he has served as president of the Jackson Academy Board of Trustees.

Jon is a past president of the National Ole Miss Alumni Association. He also serves on the university’s nationally ranked E. H. Patterson School of Accountancy Professional Advisory Council and is a statewide officer and advisor for his college fraternity Kappa Alpha Order. Jon was selected as the winner of the 2013 MSCPA Public Service Award for his community and statewide civic involvement. Jon is a graduate of MEC’s “Leadership Mississippi” program. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of North Jackson and a Paul Harris Fellow.

Jon is a graduate of The University of Mississippi, Oxford, with a B.B.A. degree and began his career with the international accounting firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell, now KPMG. Jon and his wife, the former Pam Mills, reside in Jackson.
