Kelley Williams, Jr. is a principal with the Greenover Group of companies which he co-founded in 1997. Greenover and its affiliates manage investments ranging from liquid publicly traded securities to illiquid privately held companies. In addition to making direct investments, Williams and Greenover work with third party managers in the following asset classes: publicly traded stocks, bonds, hedge funds, real estate, commodities, private equity, and venture capital.
Williams began working with start-ups and early stage companies seeking growth capital in 1996 while consulting for Venture Capital Report, Ltd., (VCR) in Oxford, England. Prior to consulting for VCR, Williams served as Industry Marketing Director for Trilogy, a venture backed, privately held software company in Austin, Texas, from 1994 to 1996. Williams worked as an Analyst and Account Executive for Marketing Research Institute, a survey research and political polling firm, from 1988 to 1992.
Williams earned his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1994 and B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 1988. He was born in Portland, Oregon, and currently resides with his family in Jackson, Mississippi. Williams and his wife M’lee have four children – Jake, Zach, Anna Kate, and Luke. They are active members of Northminster Baptist Church, and Williams has served on numerous for-profit and nonprofit boards and committees over the past twenty years.
