Jon Turner serves as chairman of the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees and has a total of eleven years of cumulative board service. Jon is a retired partner from BKD/FORVIS, where his public accounting experience with several firms spanned 40 years and multiple industries, and included audit, tax and strategic consulting services.

He also serves on the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) and the Mississippi Public Broadcasting (MPB) Foundation Board of Directors, as well as the Executive Committee of the Ole Miss Alumni Association Board of Directors. He has served on the boards of the University of Mississippi Foundation, Christ United Methodist Church and the YMCA of Metropolitan Jackson. Additionally, he has served as president of the Jackson Academy Board of Trustees.

Jon is a past president of the National Ole Miss Alumni Association. He also serves on the university’s nationally ranked E. H. Patterson School of Accountancy Professional Advisory Council and is a statewide officer and advisor for his college fraternity Kappa Alpha Order. Jon was presented the 2013 MSCPA Public Service Award for his community and statewide civic involvement. Jon is a graduate of MEC’s “Leadership Mississippi” program. He is an active member of the Rotary Club of North Jackson and a Paul Harris Fellow.

Jon is a graduate of The University of Mississippi, Oxford, with a B.B.A. degree and began his career with the international accounting firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell, now KPMG.  Jon and his wife, the former Pam Mills, reside in Jackson and have two daughters and five grandchildren.
